On Engaging with Grief in the years after a death of a partner and mother.

This episode is for anyone who has encountered heartache or knows anyone who has. (everyone).

This episode is a conversation about holding grief, particularly in a post Mormon stage of life. Many of you knew and know Annie Blake, the artist, writer, and friend to so many.

Simon, her partner of 14 years, has been a dear friend for a long time and we’ve spent countless hours talking about Annie and Simon’s life and processing after her death. It was an honor to get to capture some of one of those conversations in recorded form here. Simon is brilliant and thoughtful, and watching and hearing him grapple with the unknown, grief and a life that fell apart unexpectedly has been humbling and has asked me to also sit with my own grief of one of my best friends.

Simon articulates about loss, re-building, missing someone, and parenting as a widower at his instagram @simoneverettblake If you don’t know Annie and her work, her instagram has felt like scripture to me in the years since she died (and did even when she was alive) @Anniekblake

If you haven’t yet subscribed as a paid subscriber, please consider it. This work is so lovely to get to do, but does take a lot of time and energy to make happen! It’s less than a cup of coffee per month!
