When I left the Church, I left for the LGBTQ community I loved. I left for my children. I left for my sister who distanced herself from the Church as a teenager. I left for friends who were eager for me to join them outside of Mormonism. I left for my ancestors who practiced polygamy. I’m sad to say that only last and least did I leave for myself.
